01 Jul We’re Good to Go!
We are really looking forward to taking our guests out again on our food tours in Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews.
The Scottish government has advised that our bars, restaurants and hotels will be encouraged to re-open on 15th July. As a result, we are now taking bookings for our food tours which will be running from 1st August.
It is important to us that all our guests feel comfortable on our tours so we have made a few changes.
These will enable us to comply with public health guidance without losing the fun of visiting some great bars and restaurants in Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews.
We’re Good to Go for private tours
For the rest of 2020, all of our walking tours will be private tours. This means that each individual tour will be open only to people travelling together, whether that be a couple or a group of up to 8 people.
This way, our tours will be able to conform to social distancing requirements and ensure safe enjoyment of your food tour.
As well as only running private tours in 2020, we are implementing other practical measures:
Guides will issue audio headsets so that guests can hear the guide while we maintain social distancing.
Disposable earpieces will be provided but, for environmental concerns, we ask that you consider bringing your own mobile phone earphones with a standard 3.5mm jackplug.
Our guides will have hand sanitizer and masks available for our guests.
Of course, all the bars and restaurants included in the tour itineraries have COVID-19 prevention best practice in place.
VisitScotland, our national tourism agency, operates the new We’re Good to Go scheme. This is a UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark which enables businesses to demonstrate that they’re adhering to the respective government and public health guidance and have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment.
All of the Eat Walk tours have successfully applied for We’re Good to Go accreditation.
Full refund for COVID cancellations
We know that the situation can change rapidly. So we guarantee a full refund for any cancellations due to COVID-19 restrictions.
We are hopeful by January 2021 things will be back to normal and people will be able to book on all of our regular food and drink tours.
Until then, we hope to see you on our private tours in Edinburgh, Glasgow or St Andrews.
Enjoy one of our food tours and not only will you be supporting a locally-owned business that employs local guides, you will also be supporting the venues we visit.
As Scotland comes back to life, come explore your own hometown with us.
